All practice nursing tasks can be undertaken including specialist clinics (Asthma, Diabetes, Weight Management, Smoking Cessation and Heart disease), Travel Vaccinations, Childhood Vaccinations ,Contraception, Ear Syringing,  Blood tests and Cervical Smears. Well man and woman consultations are available by appointment.

Out of Hours 01782-719100. Provided by North Staffordshire Urgent Care; when the surgery is not open, including weekends and Bank Holidays. The surgery number will inform you of the number to; phone which is normally  They are able to give advice and will see those needing a consultation at Basford House. In exceptional cases they will visit at home.

Appointments 01538-704200 The surgery offers a computerised appointment system; appointments can be made in person or on the phone If your request is for a same day or emergency appointment please phone by 10.00 a.m. to allow us to find an appointment time for you. If you are late or attend without an appointment you may be asked to wait until those with appointments are seen. If you are unable to attend an appointment please try to let us know in order that someone else might use your unwanted appointment.
Repeat Prescriptions By giving us at least 24 hours notice we will be able to order most medications for you from our suppliers. If you are unable to do this we may sometimes have to give you a prescription to take to the chemist. Unfortunately medications are not always available as they may be out of stock at the manufacturers. To minimise your inconvenience, please give as much notice as possible. Please phone on  01538 704210 to speak to the dispenser, rather than the main surgery line.
Advice and Abnormal Results Dr. Brown is always willing to discuss these, but unless these are urgent he prefers to speak about them after surgery. Home Visits Please phone before 11.00 a.m. for these.  Dr. Brown prefers to speak to the requester of the visit to understand the nature of the problem. The practice conforms to the North Staffordshire Visiting Guidelines.
New Patients Are welcomed by the practice, we request the completion of a short questionnaire to help us to know your medical needs and anyone wishing a screening medical is invited to make an appointment with the practice nurse.

Training Practice The practice undertakes the training of doctors in General Practice; these doctors will spend 4 months with us and will be available for consultations and other practice activities.
Violent and Abusive Behaviour Like the rest of the NHS we operate a ZERO TOLERANCE policy. Anyone displaying such behaviour will be reported to the police and will have to find another GP.
Minor Surgery This is a development that is planned for the surgery.
Complaints, Compliments and Suggestions The members of the practice team will be trying to offer the best care in the quickest and most courteous way possible. At busy times this may mean you have to wait longer than ideal. We welcome verbal and written comment, addressed to any member of staff. Formal complaints are managed by our Practice Manager, Julie Downie, who is based in Cheadle. These should be in writing and will be forwarded to her.
