Well we are not sure if the owl that captured the afternoon last year will be with us - but there will be a pet show and you can enter your pet on the day.
However there will be many things to ensure that you have a marvellous afternoon -
Flower arranging competition in Church, Entertainment by Painsley College Musicians,
Small Pet Show, Stalls, BBQ, Pony and Trap rides, Castle Tours, Climbing Wall, Abseiling, Archery,
Refreshments in the Castle and lots more. There will be a Flower Arranging Competition in the Church.
However the star event in artistic terms
will be launch of Tony Heritage's book "A short Pictorial History of Alton" in the Castle Refectory.
Father Michael Fisher M.A. F.R.S.A., who is opening our Garden Party is also the author of many books on Pugin,
and Gothic architecture etc, and has written the foreword for Tony's book. Recommendation indeed and as this book
like his first book, will combine his illustrations and beautiful handwritten text about Alton Village, it is
likely to be highly sought after in the Village and beyond.
If you come to the launch - why not ask Tony to
sign your copy! It will be available at £20 - grab your copy while they are available.
